The City of Albany invites you to kick off the holiday season in style at the 2023 Christmas Festival and Pageant next month.
Spreading festive cheer in the Albany Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens on Saturday, 2 December, the celebration promises to be filled with fun and entertainment for the whole family.
Christmas markets will open from 3pm in Alison Hartman Gardens offering an array of festive treasures to explore, and the Artisan and Designer Gift Fair will be open in the Albany Town Hall.
Visitors can also capture the magic of the season at Santa's free photobooth from 3pm to 5:20pm with Ace Camera Club and the jolly man himself.
The Snow Zone is returning for its second year, providing an authentic winter wonderland of falling snow flurries in 15-minute intervals from 3pm to 6pm.
The Town Square Stage will come alive throughout the evening with local artists such as Tara Irish Dance Academy, Mt Lockyer Primary School, The Zazzies, Kris Nelson and About FACE Choir.
Roving entertainment, art workshops, mini golf, lawn games, soft play, face painting, and scrumptious food and drink vendors will ensure that there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
The highlight of the evening kicks off at 6pm with the Christmas Pageant, where floats adorned with holiday cheer will parade up York Street, bringing the magic of the festive season to life.
Manager Community Relations Elise van Gorp said she was looking forward to seeing the whole community get involved.
"Christmas is such a special time of the year and it will be wonderful to celebrate it with the community again,” she said.
“It’s always heart-warming to see so many within the community get involved and participate in the event and spreading festive spirit through the heart of the city.”
