With the Maritime Festival’s G + B exhibition proving to be a huge success in 2022, it has earnt its place on the 2023 festival line up with the inspirations of green and blue back for another year.
Hilton Garden Inn host the art exhibition once again across the entire month of July featuring artists from across the Great Southern.
Successfully submitted artwork will take influence from the colours of green and blue to embrace the maritime theme wholeheartedly.
More than 40 artists have spent countless hours creating incredible multi-media pieces exclusively for the Maritime Festival, many of whom are also returning to the G + B exhibition for a second year.
This year’s exhibition will be curated by City of Albany Visual Arts Officer Indra Geidans who said she is very excited to be working with such a fantastic subject matter.
“We learnt last year that the theme of green and blue clearly resonates with local artists whose plethora of work had to be experienced rather than explained,” she said.
“With a rich theme and cross-section of mediums such as painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, welding and weaving – we are expecting another incredible display of local talent.
“The exhibition isn’t just for the artists and the audience; it is also a fantastic opportunity for art lovers and collectors to add to their selection of pieces.”
Entries into the G + B Exhibition will be eligible for two prizes – $1,000 for Best Overall Entry and $500 for the Community Choice Award.
The G + B Exhibition will be open to the public from 9am to 9pm Friday 8 July until Sunday 27 July.
